Evidence shows, 50% of people with COPD will die within four years of their first hospitalisation with this condition. What's more, COPD is the leading cause of potentially preventable hospital admissions in Australia. Associate Professor Natasha Smallwood, in this talk will explain what can be done to improve this situation. She will outline how COPD treatment can be optimised to prevent exacerbations and slow progression of the disease, in particular where, when and how triple therapy should be used and where it is not appropriate.
