Overactive bladder affects up to 30% of adult women and yet, very often, the condition goes undiagnosed and untreated despite its potential to significantly affect quality of life.

So said Queensland urogynaecologist Dr Yu Hwee Tan on a recent Healthed podcast. She went on to explain that although the condition can occur in men it is far more common in women particularly post-menopausal women who also have comorbidities such as diabetes or obesity. It is also more common in women who are pregnant or who have delivered a baby.
