It is common for children with ADHD to struggle with maintaining sufficient food and nutritional intake. In this presentation, Dr Andrew Leech outlines how GPs can effectively screen these children for adequate diet and appropriate nutrition. He will describe the important role diet plays in the management of ADHD, providing evidence of its impact on the child's concentration, energy, behaviour, and ability to function at home and school.

Antiviral therapies are now available in Australia for the treatment of COVID. A/Prof Griffin will present the latest developments on COVID and the OMICRON variant, and explain why monoclonal antibody therapies don’t seem to work so well for OMICRON. We will have a detailed look at the antiviral therapies currently available in Australia for the treatment of COVID, and provide clinical guidance on accessing and using the antivirals - Paxlovid and Lagevrio. In addition, the use of antibody therapy for COVID pre-exposure prophylaxis will also be covered.

A practical step-wise approach to using menopausal hormone therapy in general practice. Prof Baber will explain how to assess patients for suitability, understand their treatment goals, recognise and deal with any relative and absolute contraindications.. He will also describe when and how to use the various formulations of estrogen currently available, when to use estrogen combined or alone, and why not all progestins are the same. Prof Baber will also present various clinical scenarios such as post hysterectomy, perimenopause, premature menopause, as well as how to manage MHT in older women and women still in need of contraception.
